Forza Horizon 6 Barn Finds — Complete Guide to All 15 Barn Find Cars

Barn Finds are back in Forza Horizon 6 — and this time there are 15 classic cars hidden across the Japan map. But unlike previous games, you can’t just stumble upon them while driving around. Forza Horizon 6 ties every Barn Find to your Discover Japan journal progression, meaning you need to explore, race, and collect your way through the open world to unlock the rumors.

Here’s everything you need to know: the full list of all 15 Barn Find cars by region, how the 7-tier stamp system works, and the fastest way to unlock every barn.

How the Discover Japan Stamp System Works #

Forza Horizon 6 has two separate progression tracks:

  • Horizon Festival (Wristbands) — unlocks events, showcases, and Legend Island through winning races
  • Discover Japan (Stamps) — unlocks Barn Finds, houses, and estate building through exploration

Barn Finds are exclusively tied to Discover Japan stamps. You can earn the Gold Wristband in the main festival and still only have one or two barns if you ignored the Discover Japan track.

The stamp system has 7 tiers based on Japan Points (JP) earned through exploration:

StampTitleJP RequiredBarns UnlockedCumulative
YellowVisitor1,25011
GreenSightseer2,50023
BlueTraveller5,00025
PinkPathfinder8,00049
OrangeNavigator12,000211
PurpleAdventurer16,000213
GoldMaster Explorer20,000215

To unlock all 15 Barn Finds, you need the Gold stamp (Master Explorer) at 20,000 Japan Points.

How to Earn Japan Points Fast #

1. Street Races and Touge Battles #

Street races and Touge Battles (1v1 night hill climbs) give the biggest JP per event. Aim for 3-star clears — a 3-star Street Race gives around 300 JP. The Touge mountain pass events in Takashiro and Sotoyama regions are especially rewarding.

2. Smash Bonus Boards and Mascots #

There are 200 Bonus Boards (including 50 Fast Travel Boards that reduce fast travel costs) and 200 Regional Mascots (worth 5,000 credits each) across the map. Smashing these gives small JP with zero load time — grab them while driving between events. Collecting all 200 mascots unlocks the “Gotta Smash ‘Em All” achievement.

3. Complete Horizon Stories #

Themed narrative missions (like Mei’s day tours) award significant JP on completion and introduce key gameplay mechanics.

4. Photograph Landmarks #

Every landmark and hotspot photo gives JP. Quick and easy — just drive to marked locations and snap a picture.

5. Collect and Upgrade Cars #

Every new car added to your garage and every upgrade installed counts toward the journal. Buy cheap cars from the Autoshow and upgrade them.

6. Clear Regions Systematically #

Focus on clearing one region (Ito, Ohtani, Shimanoyama) completely before moving to the next. This maximizes JP from interconnected activities.

Barn Find Location Tips by Region #

Ito Region — 4 Barns #

The most barn-dense region. Includes the Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth and Toyota 2000GT (Green stamp, north of Ito near the Minka House), the Lamborghini Diablo SV (Orange stamp, middle of Ito near a deforested valley), and the Tomica Skyline (Gold stamp, south-west edge of the search zone, accessible via a wide dirt track).

Ohtani Region — 3 Barns #

The Honda NSX-R GT (Yellow stamp, first barn you can unlock), the Porsche 911 Turbo 3.3 (Pink stamp, bamboo forest near Mei’s house), and the Nissan R390 GT1 (Purple stamp, northern Ohtani).

Shimanoyama Region — 3 Barns #

The Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 (Pink stamp, north-east of the search area), the Mitsubishi Montero Evolution (Orange stamp), and the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Time Attack (Purple stamp, center of Shimanoyama overlooking Narai-Juku).

Takashiro Region — 2 Barns #

The Pennzoil NISMO Skyline GT-R (Pink stamp, eastern edge of the search area) and the Mazda 787B (Gold stamp, deep in a large forest section in the middle of Takashiro — the best barn find in the game).

Other Regions — 3 Barns #

Nangan has the Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R (Blue stamp, north-eastern corner of Nangan’s large lake). Minamino has the Nissan Pao (Blue stamp, west side of Minamino north of the golf course). Hokubu has the Lincoln Continental (Pink stamp, south-west of the Shikisai area near the Flower Run).

How Barn Finds Work Step by Step #

  1. Earn enough JP to reach the next stamp tier. Check progress in the Collection Journal tab (pause menu).
  2. A rumor appears — a purple circle marks the search area on your map.
  3. Use Drone Mode to scan the area from above (open the drone from the pause menu or map screen). When you spot the barn, the drone highlights it on your map so you can drive directly to it.
  4. Drive to the barn — look for an unmarked dirt road leading to a wooden structure with a distinctive roof, often tucked behind trees or hills.
  5. Discover the car — a cutscene plays and the car is taken for restoration.
  6. Wait for restoration — this takes a few in-game hours. You can pay credits to speed it up if you want the car immediately.

Important Tips #

  • Your first barn is fast. Reach Yellow stamp (1,250 JP) in the first 1-2 hours of play — the Honda NSX-R GT is in the Ohtani region.
  • Blue stamp is the most impactful milestone. At 5,000 JP, you unlock the Hakusan Mountain Lodge which gives a +10% global credit bonus. This pays for itself.
  • Pink stamp unlocks the most barns at once — 4 new barns across Ohtani, Shimanoyama, Hokubu, and Takashiro at 8,000 JP.
  • Use Drone Mode. This is the #1 tip for finding barns fast. The drone highlights the barn on your map once spotted.
  • Barns are on unmarked dirt roads. When you get a purple rumor circle, look for driveways not shown on the main map.
  • The Mazda 787B is endgame. It unlocks at Gold stamp in Takashiro’s forest region. Widely considered the best barn find in the game.
  • Festival progress alone will NOT unlock barns. Push Discover Japan activities even if you already finished the main campaign.
  • There are also 9 Treasure Cars — a separate hidden car system where photo clues reveal specific locations for unique vehicles like the 1987 Porsche 959 and 2005 Ford GT. These are NOT tied to stamps.
