Cyberpunk 2077 Item Duplication Glitch: Still Works in June 2026 (All Platforms)

Cyberpunk 2077 Item Duplication Glitch: Still Works in June 2026 (All Platforms)

Yes, It Still Works (Even After the PS5 Pro Update) #

I tested this myself on PS5 Pro after the April 2026 update (version 2.310.100). The item duplication glitch is still fully functional. CDPR’s update focused on PSSR rendering and BVH8 ray tracing — they didn’t touch the gameplay logic that makes this possible.

If you’ve been sitting on a pile of Legendary items and want to multiply them, here’s exactly how to do it.

How the Glitch Works #

This is a frame-perfect input exploit. You’re tricking the game into both picking up an item AND opening the pause menu on the same frame. The game gets confused: it adds the item to your inventory, but because you saved immediately after, the item on the ground persists.

When you reload, the item is still there (because the save happened before the pickup registered fully), but you also have it in your inventory from the original pickup.

Step-by-Step Instructions #

What You Need #

  • At least one item you want to duplicate (must be droppable)
  • A save slot you’re willing to use

The Steps #

  1. Drop the item you want to duplicate on the ground. Open your inventory, select the item, and choose “Drop.”

  2. Stand over the item so the pick-up prompt appears.

  3. Press pick-up AND pause simultaneously. This is the critical step:

    • PS5/PS5 Pro: Press X (action) + Options (pause) at the exact same time
    • Xbox: Press A + Menu simultaneously
    • PC: Press your interact key + Escape simultaneously
    • Switch 2: Press A + + button simultaneously
  4. Listen for both sounds. You should hear the pick-up sound AND the menu opening sound. If you only hear one, it didn’t work — reload and try again.

  5. Save the game from the pause menu. Create a new save or overwrite an existing one.

  6. Reload that save. The item should still be on the ground (because the save captured the pre-pickup state), AND it should be in your inventory (from the original pickup).

  7. Pick up the item from the ground. Now you have two copies.

Repeat to create as many copies as you want. Each cycle takes about 15 seconds once you get the timing down.

What Can and Can’t Be Duplicated #

Can Duplicate #

  • Legendary weapons (any that can be dropped)
  • Legendary armor and clothing
  • Epic items (if droppable)
  • Consumables (if droppable)
  • Crafting components (if droppable)

Can’t Duplicate #

  • Iconic items — these are flagged as non-droppable in the game code
  • Quest items — also non-droppable
  • Anything you can’t drop — if the game won’t let you drop it, this glitch won’t work

The Visual Bug (Don’t Panic) #

After duplicating, you might notice that the duplicated items don’t appear in your inventory menu. This is a display bug — the items are actually there. To verify:

  1. Go to any vendor (weapon vendor, clothing vendor, etc.)
  2. Open the “Sell” tab
  3. You should see all your duplicated items listed there

They’re real, they’re sellable, and they’re usable. The inventory UI just doesn’t refresh properly after the exploit.

Platform-Specific Notes #

PS5 Pro / PS5 #

  • Works in both Performance and Ray Tracing modes
  • The PS5 Pro update (2.310.100) didn’t fix this
  • Timing is slightly more forgiving on PS5 than PS4 was

Xbox Series X/S #

  • Same method, same timing
  • Quick Resume can sometimes interfere — if it’s not working, fully quit the game and relaunch

PC #

  • Works with keyboard + mouse and controller
  • If using keyboard, make sure your interact key isn’t bound to something that conflicts with Escape
  • Some users report better success with a controller on PC

Nintendo Switch 2 #

  • Confirmed working
  • Same timing as other platforms

Risks #

Can I get banned? No. This is a single-player exploit. CDPR has no anti-cheat in single-player Cyberpunk 2077. There are no reports of bans.

Will it corrupt my save? No reports of save corruption from this glitch. However, as always with exploits, save before you try it.

Will it break my game? The visual inventory bug is the only side effect. It resolves itself when you visit a vendor.

Why CDPR Hasn’t Fixed This #

This glitch has been known since 2023. The reason it persists is that fixing it would require changing how the game handles item pickup and save synchronization — a core systems change that could introduce new bugs. For a single-player game with no microtransactions, the cost/benefit doesn’t justify the risk.

Tips for Maximum Profit #

  1. Duplicate expensive items first. Legendary weapons sell for the most eddies.
  2. Use the Caliente submachine gun — it’s one of the most valuable droppable legendaries.
  3. Duplicate crafting components if you want to craft everything without grinding.
  4. Save before each session — just in case you mess up the timing and accidentally delete something.
